Today, I had a great time with Congressman Mark Green at the Montgomery County Republican Women’s Meeting at the Tanglewood House in Clarksville, TN. A highlight from his talk was how United States House Republicans, among others things, want to abolish the Department of Education to keep money and decisions for education stateside. I would be a huge advocate for this as I believe our local communities could do a better job on education than Federal Government. Why should we continue to send our tax dollars to the Federal Government, just to have them send them back to us stateside? There is so much potential for fraud and misuse of funds when our local government can do a far better job providing for our community – without “strings” attached to the dollars.
